一方面,有必要隐藏他的身份从众人、和可能他的徒的;

 JESUS CHRIST THE EVIDENCE 2

THE WITNESS OF JOHN

Dear brothers and sisters,
St. John is the author of the fourth gospel , a gospel that is not only different from Matthew, Mark and Luke’s but deeper in meaning ; the truth is on each page with great insight and vision. Jesus entrusted John with the spiritual gospel, just as he later entrusted this same spiritual gospel to St. Paul. (Romans 8f) St. John is acknowledged to be the one whom Jesus loved. Perhaps this was on account of his youth or his closeness to Jesus. (John 13:23; John 20:2; John 21:7; John 21:20; ) St. John himself refers to this, but since he was writing the fourth gospel, he spoke of himself in the third person, which would be appropriate, instead of drawing attention to the fact of his special attachment to Jesus.
John, without doubt, was a close friend of the Lord, who cared for him dearly. At the Last Supper he sat next to Jesus and asked him a leading question which Jesus did not hesitate to answer. (John 13:20) On the cross, when Jesus saw his mother and the disciple, whom he loved, standing beside her, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, here is your son.’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’ And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home. (John 19:26-27)

THE IDENTITY OF JESUS
There was a great sense of danger that the identity of Jesus as the Christ, who was expected to put the clock back to the time of king David, would be acclaimed by his followers and the crowds who followed him.  John makes the point that the miracles of Jesus alone led the crowds to take him by force and make him king. (John 6:14-15) On this occasion it was necessary for Jesus to hide in the hills to avoid being crowned king by the zealots. ‘When the people saw the sign that he had done, they began to say, "This is indeed the prophet who is to come into the world. Jesus realized that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, he withdrew again to the mountain by himself. (John 6:14-15)
On the one hand Jesus did, at times, try to hide his identity from the crowds, and it may be said his disciples; on the other hand it was necessary to reveal his true identity to the Pharisees and priests, for they were his accusers and antagonists. All four gospels show the Pharisees in conflict with Jesus. Nevertheless, it was the quest of Jesus to separate his fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy, - the suffering servant, - from the popular notion that he would restore Israel like it was in the time of David. Jesus hid his identity from the zealots of Israel’s restoration. That was necessary, although difficult to do, but he often disclosed his true identity to individuals who were not revolutionary minded. (John 4:9)
But there was no escaping a constant controversy with the doctors of the law who sought Jesus out and were determined to find fault with his teachings and get rid of him, for they were humbled in the eyes of the public because he exposed their hypocrisy. He did so relentlessly, knowing that they would be the murderers who would reject him as guilty of blasphemy, (Mark 2:7; Matthew 26:35; Mark 14:64;  John 10:33; ) a crime, according to the Law of Moses.

THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
John portrays Jesus as the true light that gives light to everyone born in the world; (John 1:9) he was in the world, - not outside the world, - and yet the world did not know who he was, and when he came to his own creation, for the world and man was made by him, the world neither welcomed or received him. Those are John’s opening remarks which summarises all that follows to the cross of Calvary. All that follows was predetermined by God, his Father that the world may know that Jesus Christ is Saviour and Lord of all mankind.
